Unusual Edibles

In addition to the many varieties listed, there are a few other edible plants you can grow that are both unique, interesting, and delicious. Here are a few varieties you can purchase directly from us.

Unusual Edibles

Tea (Camellia sinensis)

All kinds of tea (green, white, black, etc.) come from the same plant. The difference is how the leaves are processed after harvesting.

Hops (Humulus lupulus)

For the intrepid home brewer, hops impart a bitter, tangy flavour useful as a stabilizing agent in the brewing of beer.

Shiitake Mushrooms

4 foot hardwood logs are innoculated with shiitake mycelium. They produce rich, meaty mushrooms over a 3-5 year period. Purchase a shiitake mushroom log from our online store.

Oyster Mushrooms

Very easy to grow indoors using our ready-to-grow kits. Can also be foraged and found growing in the woods. Purchase an indoor oyster mushroom kit from our online store.
