If you are starting your own seeds in a sunny window, create a sunbox to improve germination and seedling quality. This is especially important if your seedlings (or plants) are struggling to get enough sun during the winter months. To make a sunbox, you’ll need a medium-large cardboard box or a tri-fold bristol board display as well as some aluminum foil.

Cut out one side of the cardboard box and line the inside with aluminum foil. Use your sunbox to reflect the light back onto the plants to give them extra light.

Not only will this speed up the growth of your plants, it will also encourage them to grow straighter rather than bend and lean towards the window.

If you have a lot of seeds you are starting, make multiple sunboxes to line your window.
