Too often we get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the tasks and chores associated with it. While we may have spent the setting up and managing the garden over the season, we may not have taken the time to really enjoy it. Whether it is the time spent in the garden, the food that it produces, or the pleasure of taking a few minutes at a bit of a slower pace to enjoy the sights, smells, sounds, and feelings the garden can conjure up, take a few moments next time in the garden to enjoy everything it has to offer.
No matter the season or time of day, the garden can be a rich source of pleasure and enjoyment. Get to know your garden as it changes over the weeks and months. Are there new animals that come by, new smells from the plants? Part of being a good gardener is taking the time to observe your surroundings and recognize the small changes that occur every single day.
Take a walk through your garden at various times of day and night. It’s incredible how different it can feel whether it is dawn, noon, dusk or even midnight. One other thing we like to do is to dig your hands into the dirt and really experience the sight, smell, and feel of the soil on your skin.
This week, we want to suggest you to take a bit of extra time to really enjoy all the things the garden provides throughout the year.
